If you are looking for a place to escape from busy Tokyo life, I would suggest you to go to Nikko for a day trip. The nature is beautiful and the landscape has its own history.

Start with Tobu Asakusa station, the first train is from 6.30am and it is better to meetup early to see more places.

There is express train to Tobu Nikko station which costs 2800yen for one way and it takes 1hr 53mins.

For express train, you should purchase your seat seperetaly for 1440 yen and it will charge 1360 yen from suica (in total 2800yen).

Tip: If you would like to save your money and do not care about the time there is train which costs 1360yen from Asakusa station and takes 2hrs 37min.

We first went to Tobu World square http://www.tobuws.co.jp; you can see seven wonders and other buildings in one place. Train costs 2800yen and takes 2hr and 10min from Tobu Asakusa station. Ticket is 2800yen and they accept credit card as well. Opens from 9am to 5pm. It took us about 2.5hrs and we took many pictures. Make sure to bring some snack!

We then went to Tobu Nikko station and it is better to purchase free pass ticket for 2000yen. The main attractions are on the line and it actually saves. There is vending machine in the information center.

Take the bus and ahead to Shinkyo bridge, it is very beautiful. It charges you if you want to go on the bridge and I just took picture.

You can walk from the bridge to Toshogu shrine. It charges you 1300yen to go inside and it worth it. Personally I adored the forest area around there. We spent around 1 hour 30 mins.

From there we took bus and headed ahead to Kegon fall. It takes 40 minutes from the shrine and be aware that it closes from 4.30 p.m. It charges you 550yen to take elevator down.

We had dinner around area and saw the sunset near the bus stop.

Aheaded back to Tobu Nikko station and took train to come back to Tokyo. JR is expensive and we took local train. (around 1500 yen and 3hours)
